Thailand Travel Health

It is recommended that all travellers are up to date with their routine immunisations. All travellers should ensure that they have received a vaccination against diphtheria, tetanus and polio in the last 10 years. All travellers are advised to ensure they have been vaccinated against Hepatitis A and Typhoid.

There is no risk of Yellow Fever, however, proof of vaccination will be required if entering Thailand from a country that has a risk of Yellow Fever.

There may be a need for additional immunisations. Depending on the nature of the trip, destinations visited, duration of travel and activities, other vaccinations could be considered.  These include:- 

  • Hepatitis B
  • Rabies
  • Japanese Encephalitis
  • Cholera
  • There is a risk of malaria in the forested border areas of Thailand and travellers to these areas are advised anti-malarials, There is low to no risk of malaria in the rest of Thailand and for most travellers, anti-malarial medication is not advised
