About Us

Prevention + Health Promotion + Individual Healthcare

Three decades of service and expertise

The Fleet Street Clinic is an independent medical practice in Central London, established by Dr Richard Dawood & Gillian Whitby in 1995.

Richard is a Specialist in Travel Medicine, and with like-minded practitioners and supporting staff, we offer excellent medical care in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment. Gillian is an Optometrist with over 30 years of experience, founding Whitby & Co, part of the whole that is the Fleet Street Clinic. Together, we have a wealth of experience in meeting the medical and healthcare needs of our individual private patients and business clients.

Our experienced, well-regarded practitioners aim to provide high-quality care across all the services we offer, which include primary care, occupational health and corporate healthcare.
Building on prior innovation using PCR for rapid diagnosis in travellers returning from abroad, the Fleet Street Laboratory opened formally in 2020, providing in-house UKAS-accredited rapid rt-PCR Covid / SARS-CoV-2 testing, helping countless individual patients and supporting complex projects in the UK and internationally. Our range of in-house laboratory services continues to expand, enabling prompt diagnosis and rapid treatment for our patients.

We aim to provide bespoke, innovative, accessible and convenient care for the communities we serve, ensuring patients’ needs are met consistently and to their satisfaction.

We are committed to investing in our team, facilities, technology and business growth, and pride ourselves in acting with honesty, integrity and compassion.
