Management referral reports aim to provide actionable, evidence-based advice regarding an employee’s fitness to work and, if appropriate, suggest a safe and sustainable return-to-work plan and recommend adjustments.

The occupational health provider must remain impartial and operate within professional and ethical boundaries, focusing on facilitating communication between the employer and employee for a mutually agreeable outcome.

The employer is responsible for securing employee consent via the Civica portal, providing relevant work, health, or incident-related context, and implementing any adjustments or support recommended in the report that are reasonable, lawful, and practical for the workplace.
