Covid-19 Testing in Central London

Covid-19 Testing

Covid-19 is still around, and Fleet Street Clinic continues to offer the full range of Covid testing including rt-PCR, lateral flow and antibody testing.

As one of the only medical practices with our own laboratory on site, we specialise in delivering the fastest possible results, with highly accurate rt-PCR results available in around an hour from receipt of sample.

Knowing results quickly can help control the spread of Covid-19, speed up care, protect your loved ones and your workplace, and can facilitate international travel to the small number of countries that still require testing.

Our service is scalable and can process large numbers of samples at the same time if needed.

Your Covid-19 test results will be sent to you by email. All negative tests include a formal Covid-Negative laboratory certificate containing an authenticity QR-code which is approved for both clinical diagnostic and international travel purposes.

The Fleet Street Clinic is an approved private provider for general coronavirus testing, listed by the UK Department of Health & Social Care. We are regulated by the CQC and are a UKAS-accredited provider.

You don't have to come to our clinic to be tested.

Why not try our "wait-and-return" courier service?

If you don't feel well enough to come to the Clinic for testing, we can send you a swab with a courier, who will bring it back to our laboratory for immediate testing.

We can also test your sample for a full "panel" of 23 different causes of respiratory symptoms, including flu, cold viruses and RSV, to help establish the cause of your symptoms and get you onto the right treatment path.

Respiratory PCR Testing
FAQs

Covid-19 has not gone away, and the strains that are currently circulating are not covered by the original vaccines. Many people are susceptible. Testing can still play an important part in protecting those around you.

Covid-19 is treatable with anti-viral medication, so if you belong to a vulnerable group and are at risk of severe disease, an early diagnosis can help you obtain rapid treatment.

A positive lateral flow test can be helpful for confirming the cause of symptoms. However, it is much less sensitive than PCR, so a negative test may give a false sense of security that all is well, which may put others at risk if you are in the early stages of infection.

For people with symptoms, we recommend doing a full respiratory PCR panel, which can test for the full range of respiratory pathogens.

Antibody testing is still available, but seldom requested at the moment, and currently of limited value.

There are many things you can do to stop the spread of coronavirus:
* Wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds
* Use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
* Wash your hands as soon as you get back home
* Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
* Put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands afterwards
* Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean

Yes, our nurses are very experienced in treating children of all ages. It may not be advisable to test young infants but sometimes this is an International travel requirement. You can contact us to confirm prior to booking.

The staff were incredibly helpful and polite. We received our travel jabs from them, and not only were the prices better than in Boots, but they also didn’t try to upsell us anything just for the sake of it. Instead, they gave us their honest opinion on what we should and shouldn’t get the jabs for. It was a small act of kindness, but it made the whole experience amazing.

Had a great experience booking and getting a last minute rapid rabies jab with Fleet Street Clinic! They even booked me in out of hours for my jab because it was the only way to do it before my travels! Thank you to everyone who assisted me.

Have had all my work travel vaccines at FSC and they have always been exemplary. Easy to book appointments, pleasant reception staff (both over email and phone) and appointment times to suit me. Never been kept waiting past my time and quick/easy vaccines done. Highly recommend.

The travel nurse was lovely and very efficient with giving me vaccines. She even took the time to nurse a wound I had whilst I was there. Really great care.

On repeated occasions over the last year, I have received A1 treatment from the Fleet Street Clinic. Short-notice appointments, face to face and on the phone, for emergency conditions and quick prescriptions from excellent doctors have helped me enormously. The Reception Team are also highly professional. I couldn't recommend it more strongly.

I recently sought treatment at Fleet Street Clinic for painful ears; I was quickly diagnosed by Dr Hartmann. He prescribed ear drops and arranged an appointment for me a week later with Lucy Mildren. Within a week my ears were better. Everything was very efficient and I was treated with care and skill.
