Fleet Street Clinic Laboratory in Central London

We have been providing “Point-of-Care” Testing (POCT) for our patients since 2016. Since then, instead of having to wait days for culture results, our patients have been able to receive results for many of the tests we offer – and treatment – in about an hour, or at the same appointment.

We expanded our resources dramatically during the Covid pandemic, culminating in achieving ISO 15189:2012 UKAS Accreditation for SARS-CoV-2 testing and sampling. During the pandemic, we supported numerous complex projects in the UK and internationally, including film production and VIP groups. We are delighted to have a production credit on the most recent Mission Impossible movie! We now have multiple testing platforms and are expanding our range.

Our patients can benefit from over 60 different tests that can be performed at a single visit.

Our laboratory is staffed by Biomedical Scientists and Medical Laboratory Assistants, with oversight from independent consultants, and upholds high standards of quality.

Our Tests

Our in-house test portfolio covers a range of infections and conditions where early or rapid diagnosis makes an important difference to treatment. Here are some examples:

Sexual Health & STI

We offer full PCR molecular STI testing to detect common pathogens that cause sexually transmitted infections (STIs), such as human papillomavirus (HPV), herpes simplex virus I and II (HSV 1 & 2), chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis, chancroid, mycoplasma, ureaplasma, and trichomonas, all from a simple urine sample, swab or cervical smear. Results are released within 2-5 hours of sample submission.

Whether you are concerned about possible exposure, have symptoms or just want peace of mind, we can help quickly and confidentially.

Travellers’ Diarrhoea? Gastroenteritis?

Our stool PCR panel test helps detect and differentiate 24 possible bacterial, parasitic and/ or viral target pathogens that commonly cause gut infection and diarrhoea, all from a tiny stool swab sample.

Results are available within an hour, enabling rapid and targeted treatment.

We also offer a number of other rapid tests suitable for returned travellers, including malaria and dengue antigen detection.

Our tests release results in about an hour, enabling confident efficient, rapid, and targeted treatment.

A separate “Strep A” PCR molecular test is also available for Strep throat infection.

Had a great experience booking and getting a last minute rapid rabies jab with Fleet Street Clinic! They even booked me in out of hours for my jab because it was the only way to do it before my travels! Thank you to everyone who assisted me.

For several years I have relied on the lovely Fleet Street Clinic to cover my travel vaccination needs - for example to Cambodia, Vietnam and South Korea. They have real expertise in recommending what is necessary and protecting against risk. Having unfortunately had a bad NHS experience with vaccination earlier this year, I had a second and final shingles dose at the clinic. The last time, I wasn’t able to sleep on my left hand side for 10 days. At Fleet Street Clinic, the wonderful nurse ensured I had a perfect result.
