Osteopathy Clinicin Central London

Osteopathy Clinic

Many jobs cause musculoskeletal issues, which can have a negative impact on the wellbeing of your employees, as well as overall to your workforce. If you are in constant pain at work, it is no surprise that this can limit your productivity and concentration at work.

Certain professions are at a particularly high risk of developing this health issue due to the nature of their work such as athletes, sitting in front of a computer for a long period of time, construction workers and anyone who cycles or runs to work.

With 1 in 3 adults experiencing back pain every day, it is important to consider osteopathy treatment as a workplace health benefit.

The most common workplace osteo-related ailments that we treat are:

  • Neck pain
  • Headaches
  • Back pain including lower (sciatica) & mid-back
  • Shoulder
  • Repetitive strain injury
  • Sports injury

There are a number of symptoms that would highlight the need to see an osteopath, including: you may feel restricted movement, achy and sore muscles, pins and needles down the arm or in the fingers, sudden burst of pain in the affected area, weakness and lack of endurance and pain on use of those muscles.

The causes of the above symptoms and conditions should be examined by a professional to come to an accurate diagnosis, to help you work more efficiently, keep to deadlines and more importantly to remain pain free. We treat conditions like the above everyday and have seen long lasting results.

We are able to send our osteopath directly to your place of work and carry out assessments, make recommendations and perform treatments. Whether you want a regular visit or a one-off service, we can accommodate whatever your needs may be.

While it may seem a little indulgent to have an onsite osteopath, it can be essential for some employees in order for them to work safely and efficiently. Pains and issues with bones and muscles can dramatically reduce productivity and might result in time taken off work for appointments or even sick days. It also clearly demonstrates to your employees that you truly care about their well being and, in our experience, employees tend to give a lot back in return in terms of hard work and loyalty.

Our osteopaths provide a high level of patient care in a convenient and relaxed environment.

What kind of jobs might benefit from an osteopathy clinic?

Many jobs can be affected by musculoskeletal issues for very different reasons.

People working in largely sedentary jobs such as office workers and drivers are often susceptible to such issues. Other jobs include nurses, doctors, hospital porters, those in all areas of the hospitality industries, construction workers and manual labourers and mechanics, to name a few.

What symptoms can an osteopath treat?

An osteopath can treat many different musculoskeletal problems which have different but often overlapping symptoms.

If you experience any of the below symptoms, we’d suggest you see an osteopath:

  • Restricted movement
  • Achy and sore muscles
  • Pins and needles down the arm or in the fingers
  • Sudden burst of pain in the affected area
  • Weakness and lack of endurance
  • General pain on use of certain muscles

What will the osteopath do during the onsite session?

The osteopath will see employees individually and each patient will have an opportunity to discuss anything that may have been causing them discomfort or pain.

He will then assess them and carry out any necessary treatment within the time available. He may recommend further treatment which can either be arranged with you at a separate future session, or the employee can book a private appointment at our clinic, covering any additional costs themselves. This can be discussed when booking your onsite session.

How do I arrange this service?

You can make an inquiry using the form below.

Or give us a call to chat to one of our corporate business managers.

How long will it take?

For our private patients, a standard initial consultation with our osteopath is 1 hour.

Follow up appointments can vary and are usually decided by the osteopath. However, you can discuss these details with your assigned corporate business manager and work out what works best for your employees.

How frequently should I arrange an osteopathy clinic?

Generally speaking, we recommend booking this service quarterly at a minimum to allow for regular checks to assess your employees' health and monitor the development of certain conditions.

Larger clients tend to opt for weekly sessions so that all staff have access to this health benefit. However, the frequency can depend on the type of service you wish to provide for your employees.

I attended the Clinic for two dengue vaccinations. Unlike some other clinics, there was no upper age restriction. The staff were extremely polite, friendly and knowledgeable. I was very impressed (and I have never written that in a review before now!).

    FAQs

If any of your employees require further treatment, they can book a follow up appointment at a future session if they are frequent enough. If it is recommended they seek medical help before the next session, you as the company can opt to provide this care as an additional session at an additional cost. Alternatively, your employee could self fund at the clinic. This can be outlined in your contract prior to commencing.

It really varies and depends on the specific condition they are treating. Usually a mixture of pressure to the soft tissue and manipulation of the body helps treat and alleviate pain and discomfort. They will also provide advice on lifestyle, posture and exercises you can do at home that will aid the treatment process.

He is not licenced to prescribe medication directly, but as a multidisciplinary practice, one of our clinic doctors can prescribe any medication deemed necessary by the osteopath.

The cost of the service largely depends on how long you require the osteopath which is usually based on how many people you would like them to see on a given day. Once you have made an inquiry with one of our corporate business managers, they will be able to provide you with a breakdown of the cost.
