Travel Advice for Peru
Peru is a wonderful destination in South America home to the Amazon Rainforest, Macchu Pichu and the high Andes mountains. Highlights on many travellers itineraries include a trip across Lake Titicaca, a plane over the Nazca Lines, and a mountain trek along the Inca Trail. Whatever your plans are for Peru, it is important to ensure you have sought pre-travel advice to ensure you stay healthy whilst abroad.
It is recommended that all travellers are up to date with their routine immunisations. All travellers should ensure that they have received a vaccination against diphtheria, tetanus and polio in the last 10 years. All travellers are advised to ensure they have been vaccinated against Hepatitis A and Typhoid.
The yellow fever virus is present in parts of Peru and therefore a vaccination against Yellow Fever may be advised for certain areas of the country.
There is no requirement to provide proof of vaccination against Yellow Fever.
